Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire.

What Is JagCorner & BitJag

JagCorner is BitJag’s development portal for updates, official images/videos, and other announcements.

BitJag is our developer name. Here are a few things we wish to accomplish:

  • Create content centered around the Atari Jaguar along with other content that is related to Atari consoles and games.
  • Build Jaguar games on the foundation of good programming, good art direction, and good storytelling.
  • Create a complete product. This includes, a finished cartridge or CD, box, manual, and other little things.
  • Help keep this system alive with great content!

We post on several social media platforms. You can also stay up to date with what we are doing and get early access to content by signing up for our newsletter. These most likely won’t be on a consistent schedule, but we won’t spam your inbox either.

About Our Development Tools

If you are interested in some of the tools that we use to make games for Atari consoles, there are no secrets here. We use tools that are readily available to every one, and built and maintained by individuals far more experienced and charitable than we are. These tools are:

  • The Removers Library & The Atari Jaguar C library – A C code library for developing our games.
  • RMAC & RLN – Modern versions of Atari’s assembler and linker.
  • Everything else is opensource software including Linux (OS), Gimp (graphics), Krita (graphics), Milkytracker (music tracker for MOD music files) and Audacity (prepping audio samples for tracker).

If you want to get started working on your own games you can check out our Linux (Debian based) setup scripts on GitHub to help streamline setting up a development environment on your PC. The repository includes a sample program to test your build environment. Please be sure to read the instructions and other notes on the GitHub page before contacting us with questions.
